Our first and most important update is. . . . WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are SO, SO excited and still can't believe it. In fact, we had such a hard time believing it at first that I took not one, not two, but three pregnancy tests. Then I was worried the cheap ones I got off Amazon were well, cheap, so I walked two blocks to Walgreens to get the expensive ones. Yep, got the plus sign on that one too. I took another one the next morning just to be sure. Then Gene said a few days later: "Why don't you take another one just to be sure." After six or seven tests, we were finally sure. . . but still can't believe it!!!!!
We've known since the end of January hence it being kinda quiet on here since then. There were lots of nights of just laying on the couch doing absolutely nothing after work, and blogging about anything else felt like we weren't talking about the elephant in the room, 'er little peanut in the womb. (That was such a Gene joke!!!! Oh my, look what marriage does.)
A few stats:
-Due date is October 4th.
-We're at 18 weeks starting today.
-Baby is the size of a large mango, about 8 oz. and 6 inches long.
-Waiting to be surprised in October on whether it's a boy or girl (unless we cave at the next ultrasound in two weeks).
-Nicknames: Meatball, Cupcake, mini-Mercado
-Lastest craving: BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad from California Pizza Kitchen. I have no idea where the nearest CPK is so I made one myself yesterday for lunch, had leftovers for lunch today, made another one tonight for dinner AND fixing it for dinner at a friends house tomorrow night. YUM!
-Feeling great!!! 2nd trimester is glorious.
-Eating like a champ--obvious to anyone who shares (tries to share) a meal with me. Making up for lost time due to food aversions and nausea in the 1st trimester.

I've finally uploaded and sorted through pics from our trip to Thailand. I'll put some up here soon. SUCH a great vacation!!
Gene and I both turned another year older and had some fun little celebrations.
Okay, I have to stop staring at the cupcake. I want another.
